A section of City Hall officials have reason to be worried after the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) began investigations into their transactions.

Nairobi County Executive for Finance Gregory Mwakanongo and Chief Officer Luke Gatimu are under probe over payments made as legal fees.

According to EACC Deputy chief executive Michael Mubea, the two officials are under investigations and have not been arrested as earlier claimed.

“No arrests have been made by EACC officers, however, City Hall chief officer for finance Mr Gatimu has on several occasions recorded statements over questionable payments made to Koceyo and Co Advocates amounting to Sh71million,” said EACC in a statement.

EACC has been investigating City Hall finance department after questions were raised by the Auditor-General.
