The Nairobi city county revenues have gone up just weeks after new governor Mike Sonko took over from former boss Evans Kidero.
This is after a crackdown on cartels accused of siphoning money from coffers.
In the first two weeks of September, the city's cash collections rose from below Sh200 million to Sh467 million as City Hall moved to seal loopholes.
A Revenue Report for 01/09-15/09/2017 that was prepared by acting head of revenue Agnes Kisaka showed that total banking was recorded at Sh532,296,125, where Sh240,595,897.00 was earned through Jambo pay.
The records further indicated that on September 7, Nairobi had the highest collection of Sh99,752,831.68, indicating that the county could easily meet the Sh100 million daily collection target set by Sonko.
