A matatu belonging to the Umoinner Sacco was on Wednesday burned down after it hit and badly injured a pedestrian on Jogoo Road near Donholm.
The Wednesday incidence saw the driver escape from the angry mob that was baying for his blood.
According to police, the accident took place after the driver tried to overlap to the wrong lane.
Immediately the passengers disembarked, angry youths moved in and immediately torched the vehicle.
Police are investigating the incident.
This is not the first time Nairobians are torching a matatu.
In February, residents burned down another matatu plying the Rongai route after it hit and killed a child.
The matatu was also being driven in the wrong lane on Lang'ata Road.
