Nairobi Police officers are on a patrol to hunt down a gang that hijacked a city MCA on Tuesday morning.
Viwandani MCA Samuel Nyangwara was allegedly abducted by a gang of four along Bunyala Road, while driving home.
The incident that was witnessed by a member of the public at around 4 am was reported to the authorities who swung into action immediately.
On noting that they were being trailed the gangsters reportedly abandoned Mr Nyangwara at Capitol Hill, which houses Cord leader Raila Odinga's office and the managed to escape.
“We trailed them using the MCA’s phone but before we could catch-up with them, they fled. CCTV records captured along the routes they hijackers used will assist us in our probe,” one of the detectives was quoted.
The gang made away with Sh100,000 and a mobile phone. The MCA has reportedly been kidnapped for a second time in a span of a few weeks.
