Visiting City Stars picked its first point of the season after settling for a one all draw with hosts Modern Coast Rangers in a National Super League NSL match played at Mbaraki stadium, Mombasa on Wednesday.
Former AFC Leopards midfielder Khalid Jumaan became the hero when he scored four minutes from time to salvage a point for his team after Rangers took an early lead through George Owiti who netted just five minutes to the match.
The results continued Rangers’ unbeaten streak having won one and drew two in the three opening matches of the season, a run that left them fifth in the table standings on five points, two shy of leaders Palos FC.
Meanwhile City Stars are on one point after losing all its two previous matches, a run that leaves them second bottom in the 17-team log.
City Stars will play host to Agro Chemical in their next duel on Sunday at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds in Nairobi, while Rangers will travel to Mumia stadium to take on host Vihiga United on the same day.
