Nairobi City Stars is set to hire Tom Ogweno, formerly with  Gor Mahia as an assistant coach.

Ogweno was  released by the former KPL champions after apparently falling out with head coach Jose Marcelo Ferreira.

The club is seeking an assistant to newly appointed coach Robert Matano, formerly with Ulinzi.

“We have confirmed coach Matano but he has to work with other well established personalities for the success of the team. At the moment we are in talks with Ogweno to see if he can join us and I can confirm discussions are going on well. The team is also preparing well for the coming season,” confirmed a statement from the club.

Ogweno, has also previously served as Gor Mahia Team Manager and had coaching roles at Tusker.
