The registration commenced on Monday at the Thika Sub-county headquarters.

Biometric registration at the sub-county offices was scheduled to kick off on Friday but it failed inconveniencing the public servants who had turned out in large numbers. The exercise is expected to take three days before proceeding to the next scheduled sub-county. The exercise started in Kiambu last week.

Jeremiah Gicheru, the deputy county commissioner for Thika Sub-county who showed up for the occasion shortly after it started said that it was right for the leaders from both the county and national government to lead by example.

“We as leaders are supposed to be in the forefront. I have come to shed light for all those who work under me,” Gicheru said.

The DCC added that residents should be assured of development as the quality of services in government offices will improve.

“Once an employee has assurance that his or her job is secure, they will be able to give quality service to the residents. That automatically guarantees development in the sub-county and the county at large,” he added.
