Kisumu County National Youth Council Chairman Barnabas Odeny who read the press statement in Kisumu said the forum is important for the growth of the county.

Odeny said the governor should use the forum to give an annual address that is enshrined in the constitution.

“Since his election he has not addressed the county residents as dictated by the constitution,” alleged Odeny.

He said the governor needs to give an overall overview on the performance of the county to the people.

Odeny noted that the forum must be attended by the County Executive members, County Service Board members, Members of County Assembly and the management of the city.

He said the county is faced with a number of challenges ranging from wrangles at the County Assembly, nepotism and irregular employment at the county amongst other things.

“There is a big problem in this county and the governor must now step up and address these problems,” added Odeny.

However, the press conference was disrupted by some youths who accused the organisers of undermining Governor Ranguma.

The youth said the organisers should seek audience with the governor before summoning him for ridicule.

“We will not allow people from other counties to come and start summoning our governor, let them go to their counties and dictate things there,” protested the youths.
