Chief Justice aspirant Lucy Wanja Julius has said that she will bar the media from covering court proceedings if she succeeds Willy Mutunga.
Appearing before the JSC panel interviewing the applicants, Wanja said that media presence in court tends to decide the fate of the litigants in advance, therefore, intimidating the judgement.
''I will ban the press from covering court proceedings unless the involved parties prefer their presence," said Wanja.
She compared herself to biblical King David, something she said makes her the best candidate suited to take up the job.
''I am a believer of King David, i believe that am your David. The anointed one who will kill the Goliath of corruption in the Judiciary," she stated.
However, when asked why her application was incomplete she defended herself by stating that she did not have enough time to complete the application as she made up her mind to go on with the process on the last day before the deadline.
Wanja has also served as the NARK-Kenya C.E.O during the Kibaki regime.
