President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto at Gesima, Nyamira on Thursday, October 5. Photo/PSCUPresident Uhuru Kenyatta was on Thursday forced to act nice as he wooed the Gusii community to his Jubilee party ahead of the repeat presidential poll on October 26.
After several weeks of bashing the Supreme Court and its head CJ David Maraga, a native of Nyamira, Uhuru was forced to change tactic as he toured the area.
Uhuru said that he was not personal with Maraga and he was just angry with the court - which is his right. He accused his opponents of blowing the issue out of proportion.
“I respect your son Maraga and I have nothing against him. We can meet, talk and even make jokes. Ignore the propaganda being generated," he said.He said Maraga remains his friend.“It was my right to critique the ruling and I think that is normal in any country. I have never gone personal and he remains my friend," the Head of State said.
