12-year-old boy strangled to death in Webuye. [Photo/Courtesy]A standard six pupil, Meshak Nato, from Mji village in Maraka ward, Webuye East is suspected to have been strangled to death .His body was found on Tuesday morning in Nangoto village next to a road, two kilometres away from his home.Police say the 12-year-old boy's body had no physical injuries and therefore suspect he was strangled.According to Nato’s mother Margaret Simiyu, his son went missing on Monday night. The family was informed of his death on Tuesday morning.“We had prepared the evening meal. We ate together as a family. In fact, he was the one who bought the vegetables that we ate from the market ," Simuyu is quoted by the Star.“After the meal, he took soap and said he wanted to wash his school shirt," added Simiyu.The mother to the late Nato further noted after his son failed to show up in the house by midnight, she went to her mother-in-law’s house only to informed he had been picked up by unknown people.“I then went to my mother-in-law’s house. A young boy who stays with her said Nato had been picked up by some people at night,” Simiyu noted.She was later sent a message, "“come and pick up your son’s body”.A neighbour of the family, Bernard Konya, alleged Nato's death might be caused by a family dispute.Bungoma East police boss Zachaeus Ng’eno said investigations have been launched into the matter and the killers will be brought to book.
