According to his friends, they were playing along the river on their way home from school for lunch when the deceased fell into the river.   

“We were going home from school to take lunch. When we were closer to home, we didn’t see him and reported the incident to residents who launched a search and found him dead in the river,” said one of his friends. 

Residents alerted police who arrived at the scene and retrieved the body.

The body was taken to a Kisii hospital mortuary.
