Residents of Kombo South in Migori are in shock after a class five boy killed his sister aged 15 because of attending a disco dance.
The bizarre incident occurred on Saturday night, when the boy denied her sister a chance to sneak out and attend a dance night.
The sister insisted but the brother refused and a battle emerged, after which the boy picked a blunt object and hit his sister.
She fell down unconsciously and was rushed to Rapcom Hospital in Migori but was found dead.
Kombo South location chief Beatrice Auma confirmed the incident adding that investigations had already commenced.
"Prior investigations have been made and found out that the girl died after she was struck," Auma said.
"Nothing has been done yet as we wait for the family to sit down and deliberate on the matter as further investigations are made," she added.
Chief Auma pleaded with the parents to control sibling wrangles since they can lead to a big loss.
The Local administrator also asked parents to teach their children how to control their emotions to avoid such occurrences.
So far,no arrests have been made.
