Joyce Sangara, an onion seller in the market said that the market is not in good condition especially for food vendors who cook and sell around the market premises.

She said that for the vendors who cook food at the market premises they are at a danger of infecting their customers with the deadly Cholera disease which was recently announced in North Eastern region in Mandera County.

The food vendors on the other side have said they will not stop their businesses as they had given the county ample time to improve the market and they did not seem to take any necessary action.

Hence, they have sworn to continue with their business until when the government addresses the issue of uplifting the standards of their working premises.

For the past two weeks, the county enforcement officers have been chasing open-air food vendors in various food kiosks among them Kisii bus park among others.
