African Brotherhood Church's archbishop Timothy Ndambuki says Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka heed to the clergy's advise not to accept being sworn in as the People's Deputy President.
Ndambuki said the former Vice President knew the consequences of taking the unconstitutional oath hence sacrificed for the country's peace by failing to take it.
"The clergy advised the NASA co-principal and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka against being sworn in and we are glad he adhered to our agreement," Ndambuki said.
Ndambuki said Kalonzo snubbed the swearing in because he is a peaceful man.
"He is no coward, I'm glad he followed our advise despite him being labelled a betrayer", Said Ndambuki.
Ndambuki spoke during a thanksgiving ceremony at the Machakos County Assembly on Tuesday.
He urged Kenyans to understand that Kalonzo's decision was aimed at ensuring the country remains peaceful.
Ndambuki said it will take three decades for the Kamba community to get a leader like Kalonzo.
Kalonzo while addressing a Wiper Women Democrats workshop in Athi River on Tuesday reiterated that the oath taking was against the constitution and a trap set for his political nemesis to bar him from contesting in 2022.
"I know that even it i wont be hanged I will be barred from vying for Presidency in 2022,"Said Kalonzo.
Kalonzo's remarks weren't warmly received by Machakos residents who took it as a confirmation of his cowardice.
“We thought the real reason was withdrawal of his security details, Kalonzo is taking us for a ride. Where will we bury our heads as Kambas," a resident from Machakos County said.
The businessman declined to be mentioned for fear of victimization.
