A Catholic Church clergy has urged Kenyans to express humility as they prepare to mark Ester Holiday.
Speaking on Sunday at Karuri Trading Center during a Church Service to mark Palm Sunday, Rev. Samuel Mbuthia of Karuri Church said that Kenyans of goodwill should emulate the earnest humility of Christ.
“I urged Kenyans to follow the humility of our saviour and pass the same virtue to others regarding race, colour or creed,” said Mbuthia.
Rev. Mbuthia also said that the country needs peace and urged Kenyans to pray to achieve stability.
“Our nation needs peace to progress and clergymen should join hands together to achieve preach peace and unity,” said Rev. Mbuthia.
The clergy further urged Kenyans to extend helping hands to less fortune members of society.
“It's my appeal that Kenyans will share what they have with the under privileged in the society,” said Rev. Mbuthia.
He noted that the gap between the poor and the rich is widening and appealed to all Kenyans to minimise the gap by helping one another.
“One cannot claim to be knowing God if he/ she does not have a helping heart,” said Mbuthia.
The cleric said that much of the Kenyans suffering could be alleviated if people expressed compassion to one another.
Other similar occasions occurred in other parts of Kiambu County and the country where Christians flocked Churches and later held processions into streets singing and waving palm fronds to mark the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem and to set the beginning of the Holy Week which will end with commemoration of Ester Holiday.
