Speaking on Sunday at Uthiru Trading Center,Kabete sub-county during a church service the clergy urged the government to act ruthlessly on the financiers and sympathizers financing terror activities .

Pastor Edward Kamau of Uthiru Church of Christ said that the nation should act quickly to have the camp closed if national stability was to flourish.

Kamau urged the government to respect public verdict and close the camp.

“With rising terrorism in the country the government should respect public views to have the camp closed,” said Kamau.

Kamau argued that the camp was a breeding den of Somalia insurgents.

“The root cause of terrorism has been linked to Daadab Camp and the government should act according to public demand by closing the camp,” said Kamau.

Daadab Camp has been on the spot over allegations of harbouring Somalia-based Al Shabaab militants.

However the closure and the repatriation of the Somalia refugees is likely to stir controversy with the United Nations.

“The government should leave no stone unturned in the fight against terrorism by halting the operations of financiers of terror activities “, said Kamau .

The cleric also said that terrorism is a global phenomenon that required the efforts of clergies, political leaders and common people.

“The inclusion of all stakeholders will be needed to counter terrorism to pave way for national stability “, said Kamau .

Kamau urged political and religious leaders to find out ways to help youth who have been lured into radicalization to abandon it and embrace patriotism.
