Inter-Faith Council of Kenya has been accused of partisanship for supporting amendments in the elections law passed by the National Assembly last month.
In a press release to newsrooms on Tuesday, the Amani National Congress (ANC) which is under the leadership of Musalia Mudavadi said the religious group was accelerating flames of electoral violence by giving biased opinion on election laws.
“It disheartens that a group calling themselves Inter-Faith Council of Kenya are fanning electoral mayhem when they give partisan views and purport to bless flawed amendments to electoral laws,” ANC National Organising Secretary Basil Mwakiringo said in a statement.
In a press briefing on Monday, the Inter-Faith Council of Kenya urged the Senate to adopt amendments made to the contentious election laws, that included a provision to revert to the manual voting system in case the electronic voting system fails.
