More than fifteen ACK bishops drawn from Nyanza and Western regions have urged the key political players in the country to sit and dialogue about the current political crisis occasioned by the just concluded elections.

Led by Bishop Simon Oketch, the religious leaders noted that only dialogue can help resolve the country's political stalemate, adding that they are ready to bring President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition chief Raila Odinga to the negotiation table.

“We recognize peace can only be attained in an atmosphere where respect for the rule of law, human dignity and sanctity of life, truth and justice exist,” he said.

“We commit, together with other religious leaders to support reconciliation efforts,” he added.

On their part, both political leaders have maintained hard-line stances, with President Kenyatta maintaining that dialogue can only take place within the frameworks of the constitution.
