The clergy has been the latest body to comment on the standoff surrounding the new Election Laws.
Bishop Philip Anyolo of Homabay diocese catholic church has appealed to both the government and opposition to negotiate over the Election Amendment Bill 2016 which was passed last week.
“The constitution of Kenya is a negotiated document and the politicians should negotiate any proposed amendments such as the election amendment bill 2016,” said Anyolo while speaking at Kitere Catholic church in Migori County.
He added that there was no dialogue in the issues to do with the election law but he still appealed to both sides to come together saying it won’t be the first and the last time for dialogue
The Election amendment bill was tabled to the senate on Wednesday after it was passed in the national assembly last week.
