Catholic bishops want President Uhuru Kenyatta to show the much-needed leadership to save the country from plunging into total anarchy.
Under the consortium Kenya Conference of catholic Bishops (KCCB) they told NASA leader Raila odinga to show Kenya his leadership skills as the country heads to presidential election next month.
The bishops fear the absence of meaningful dialogue between the two leaders, there could erupt political violence. President Kenyatta should also stand out as a symbol of National unity by virtue of the seat he is occupying, KCCB chair Philip Anyolo said on Wednesday, September 27 in Nairobi
There is heightened political activity across the country following Supreme Court decision to nullify Kenyatta’s win in August 8.
Nasa has demanded a raft of irreducible minimums that IEBC has to address before a fresh election is held in October 26.
Already, demonstrations have kicked off to compel certain IEBC officials to vacate office on grounds that they were responsible for bungled August polls.
“IEBC told us they have challenges but only dialogue will solve our problems,” said the bishops.
