African Inland Church (AIC) Machakos Bishop, Bernard Nguyo, has urged the government to enhance security countrywide.
Speaking at Kithyoko Secondary School on Tuesday, while launching a four day Christian seminar, Nguyo said that this will help curb insecurity cases which are on the rise.
Bishop Nguyo noted that the country has passed through a difficult moment where it has lost a promising generation hence it needs to put measures into place which will avert terrorist attacks.
“We are grieved by the loss of young innocent and hardworking youths. The government needs to beef up security in all learning institutions to prevent such attacks,” said Nguyo.
He further urged the church to continue praying for peace and security in the country.
“We have lost a great generation. As Christians, we will continue praying for peace in our country as the government plays its role,” said Bishop Nguyo.
He however urged church leaders and other religions to preach peace to their congregations.
The seminar has brought together more than 230 pastors from different parts of Machakos County.
