Religious leaders in Gatundu North Sub County have called on Kenyans to pray for the country during the Easter holiday as the country mourns lives lost in the Garissa University attack. Speaking in Bethel Church in Mataara Gatundu North in Kiambu County on Friday during a Good Friday service, Head of Churches Association Wycliffe Munyiri urged Kenyan to turn to God and seek his protection from the enemy’s threats. “Kenya will never be defeated if we unite in prayers and turn from evil. Jesus died for our security and everyone should be rest assured that God has not forsaken us,” he said. The clergy’s statement was echoed by his deputy Samuel Gatura from Kenya Assemblies who reminded Kenyans that life has ups and downs and they should therefore continue praying for the country. The leaders commended President Uhuru Kenyatta for heightening security in the affected areas and also fighting corruption which they said has led to decay public offices.
