The government has been asked to consider expanding the roads in areas that have been marked as black spots.
Uasin Gishu gospel ministers chairman Bishop Wilson Kurui also wants more bumps erected in spots that have registered many accidents, especially along the Eldoret-Nakuru highway.
Speaking in Eldoret on Monday, Bishop Kurui expressed concerns over increased road accidents and asked drivers to be cautious while on the roads.
"It's so sad and unfortunate that we continue losing innocent lives on our roads due to accidents. Such incidents always rise during the festive season and we want to ask drivers to be extra careful and fully adhere to the set laws and regulations," said Bishop Kurui.
"The government also needs to come in and perhaps expand roads near the known black spots and put up much more pumps that can force motorists to slow down when approaching those areas that have claimed many lives," he added.
The Jesus Love Ministries Bishop also challenged the traffic police as well as the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) officials to ensure strict adherence to laws and regulations for road users.
