Uasin Gishu Chairman of gospel ministers Bishop Wison Kurui has proposed what should be done to reduce accidents at Salgaa and Sachangwan blackspot along Eldoret- Nakuru highway, which claimed hundreds of innocent lives late last year.

He said tracks should be given alternative routes since they are the major causes of accidents.

"Of all the accidents that have been reported almost 85 percent involve tracks, therefore if tracks will be given alternative routes cases of accidents at Salgaa black spot will be a thing of the past," he said in Eldoret town, Monday.

"As religious leaders, we are tired of accidents happening at that place every now and then we also urge the National government through the ministry of transport to construct a dual carriage road,” he added

He also called upon all Bishops from all denominations in the country to set aside a particular day that they will conduct prayers at Salgaa and Sachangwan hotspot.

“We want the place to be sanctified and cleansed by Bishops and if this is done cases of accidents at the scene will be a thing of the past,” noted Bishop Kurui.

He called upon drivers to drive carefully while approaching the Sachangwan and Salgaa black spots since careless driving is also the major cause of accidents on our roads.
