A clergyman has now called for the country to adopt rotational presidency saying the move will help end perennial conflicts associated with the seat.
Kisumu Catholic Diocese head Zacheus Okoth on Monday said that it was evident several communities in the country felt left out and a rotational presidency would provide a platform for them to also ascend to the coveted position.
Speaking in Kisumu, the bishop added that the situation as it is in the moment provides a platform for only two communities to use their numerical strength and assume the presidency, a scenario he regretted saying it breeds more animosity in the country.
"It is high time we keenly looked at a rotational route.It could be the best way to reduce animosity brought about by this cutthroat competition for the presidency," he said.
His sentiments come in the wake of a raging secession debate that seeks to divide the country into on grounds of continued marginalization.
