Uasin County chairman of Gospel Ministers Bishop Wilson Kurui  has asked IEBC to declare Uhuru Kenyatta the president-elect after his competitor Raila Odinga withdrew from the race. "Raila has voluntarily pulled out of the presidential race, the only thing IEBC should do is to declare Kenyatta president for sanity to prevail in the country. Kenyans are really suffering, let us end this once and for all," he said in Eldoret town, Wednesday."This is prophetic since many, including Raila, thought Kenya will burn just because he was not declared president. He should now keep quiet and support Uhuru Kenyatta's presidency since leadership comes from God," he added. He, however, called upon Kenyans to maintain peace."As religious leaders, we urge Kenyans to stay calm and refrain from participating in anti-IEBC protests since they may take us back to  what we experienced in 2007," noted Kurui.
