Nyando MP Fred Outa have told Clergymen in Kisumu to give Governor Jack Ranguma space to discharge his duties effectively.
Outa claimed that there is a group of some religious leaders who have formed a ring around the Governor Ranguma to offer prayers.
He said that those men and women of the cloth are a setback to service delivery to the people of Kisumu County by Governor Ranguma.
“Governor Ranguma is unable to deliver quality service to the people of Kisumu due to lack of space occasioned by a section of some religious leaders who consume much of his time,” alleged MP Outa.
He advised the Clergymen to allow the Governor perform his duties and offer their spiritual nourishment at an appropriate time.
Speaking at Siany Kabonyo Primary School in his Constituency when he presided over a ground breaking ceremony of the construction of a classroom by Safaricom Foundation, MP Outa said that the County residents require services.
Outa said that the Clergymen would be portrayed in bad light if they continue flocking the office of the Governor in the pretext of offering prayers.
He claimed that the notion on the ground is that the religious leaders are receiving hefty pay from the public coffers for offering prayers.
Outa also said that the Governor is unable to transverse the county and meet the residents since he is held hostage by these groups of religious leaders claiming to be offering spiritual food at the expense of Kisumu residents.
“Our Governor must be allowed to discharge his duties without any constraints imposed by anybody in the county,” said MP Outa.
