The Eldoret Catholic Diocese Bishop Cornelius Korir has asked leaders to desist from land grabbing and stealing of public funds so as to set a good example to the citizens.
Korir said that the problem of land grabbing will only be solved by leaders uniting and exposing the grabbers.
"If the work of leaders is to take us to a common destiny, then it should not be to stealing shambas. Let them be a good role model to their subjects", said Korir.
Korir also asked the leaders to tone down the salary increment rhetoric while majority of Kenyans continue to live in abject poverty.
"Leaders should not always be asking for hefty salaries. They ought to know that it is ordinary Kenyans who suffer when taxes go up as a result. They should practise a servant kind of leadership", he said.
The Bishop also appealed to the County governments to initiate projects that will benefit the youths which will in turn minimise the drug usage among them. He was speaking to journalists in his Eldoret office yesterday.
