A section of Muslims clerics from the Coast region is pushing for dialogue between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga in a bid to avert a possible political crisis in the country.Speaking at the Manyatta Mosque in Likoni, Mombasa, Sheikh Mwinyi Ali said the country is divided and dialogue is the only way to re-unite Kenyans.Sheikh Ali said it is unfortunate that the country is heading in the wrong direction yet politicians are doing nothing to solve the stalemate.“The two leaders come together and publicly agree on how they will take the country forward without taking such hard political stands which are ruining peaceful coexistence in the country,” said Sheikh Ali.He also condemned a section of religious leaders accused of taking political sides, adding that it will be impossible for such leaders to be trusted by Kenyans and specifically their followers.“How will we play the mediation role if we take political sides, Allah will not forgive us if the country plunges into chaos,” he said. His sentiments were echoed by Gospel Believers Fellowship Coast regional representative Bishop Alfred Obuya who urged politicians to work towards uniting the nation.“Let’s not wish away the things we are seeing today. The fight between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga is taking the country to very hard times,” said Obuya.
