PEFA church clerics in Kenya have lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta and Nasa leader Raila Odinga for agreeing to work together saying it was fundamental to healing the nation.
Speaking at Daraja Mbili, the clerics led by Dr Joseph Kirioba said that they acknowledged the efforts made by the two leaders in allowing national interests to take precedence over personal interests.
"The two leaders have demonstrated that Kenya’s rich diversity could be a point of convergence other than anarchy. For that purpose, we ask all political leaders to support them," he said while reading a statement.
The statement was also signed by bishops, Dr George Mwangome Chipa, Dr John Okinda (General Secretary), Dr William Sorony (Member of Council of elders) and James Ziro.
During the ceremony, Simeon Mosoti was consecrated as the PEFA West Nyanza Region Bishop of PEFA church which has been in existence for the last 56 years since it was founded.
Bishop Mosoti urged the faithful to embrace a spirit of forgiveness saying it was the basis of unity in the society.
