Nyeri county government office was a holy shrine on Monday, as clerics joined hands to dedicate the officers and employees to the hand of God.
More than 30 clerics joined hands to offer prayers at 9 am led by Bishop Paul Wanjohi of New Life Church.
The bishops started the prayers at the gate and moved to every office, blessing them and sprinkling them with anointed oil.
This spiritual approach comes in after Nyeri lost her founding governor Nderitu Gachagua to pancreatic cancer in London last year and most recently elected governor in the August 8 polls Mr Wahome Gakuru died in a tragic accident last week, Tuesday.
“Our message was simple, to re-dedicate our county government to God. We wanted to increase faith and hope in our God,” Governor Mutahi Kahiga said.
Kahiga was sworn in at 3 pm on Monday in an event attended by a section of Jubilee leaders.
