Bini said Ministry of Interior and Coordination should increase the number of officers patrolling the region to provide extra surveillance during the entire month of fasting.

“I want to call upon the national government to give us more security especially during night hours where we conduct our prayers at ease during this holy month Ramadhan,” Bini said.

He addressed the press in Eldoret town on Thursday.

The month which has started on May 17 will be observed by all Muslims globally as commanded in the holy book of Quran.

Bini asked the state to increase the number of security officers patrolling the region so as to supplement the efforts of their colleagues on the ground.

“Muslims across the country should observe the holy month strictly and help the less fortunate in the society who cannot afford even a single meal a day,” Bini added.

Uasin Gishu County commissioner Abdi Hassan, however, assured Muslims of their security saying they have put in enough security measures to ensure that Muslims in the county mark the month without any major security incidences.
