National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate, Raila Amolo Odinga calls for rerun boycott will do the country more harm than good, the Kenya Muslims National Advisory Council has said.

Speaking on behalf of the council, Chairman Sheikh Juma Ngao has urged Muslims in different parts of the nation to turn out in large numbers to ensure that a president is elected on October 26.

Ngao said that it is a democratic right to participate in any election including rerun.

“All Muslims should vote on October 26. All KEMNAC heads in all the counties should prepare Muslims to vote in their areas,” he told the daily on phone.

He pointed an accusing finger at both political divides for creating unnecessary tension.

He reminded leaders of the opposition and Jubilee to encourage their supporters to join the rest of the nation in voting when that time comes.

“Let people vote. The IEBC has not said there will be no election. No one has gone to court to dispute the election date,” he said. The remarks of the clerics come after Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Commissioner Roselyn Akombe resigned from her post.
