Newton Nyaanga, a clinical officer at Magombo District officer in Kitutu Masaba constituency, Nyamira County today warned citizens of dust that is too much in the region during this dry season.
Speaking at a funeral at Ikobe, Mr Nyaanga appealed to the citizens to observe maximum hygiene during the season when there is too much of dust.
"I understand in this season most people do not get enough water for domestic use hence they try to minimise the small amount by not cleaning things such as utensils and foods well. This can cause diseases such Cholera that you have already had its outbreak in Kisii and Homabay Counties," he said.
He urged business people to make sure they dust their goods for sell or cover them well to prevent dust from getting into contact with them. Sprinkle a little water in the area where you carry out your business to settle down the dust," he added.
He further urged citizens to be responsible in this dry season so that they can lead a healthy life together with their families which is free from diseases such coughing.
The appeal by the clinical medicine to citizens comes in this dry season in Kisii region when residents are struggling a lot to get water for use. People have forced to go to streams at mid-night to collect water because of longer queues during the day.
