[Photo|@BreakingNewsKE]Officials of the Kenya Union of Clinical Officers have called off their members strike after signing a Return to Work Formula with the government.The event was held at Afya House in the presence of the Health Cabinet Secretary Dr Cleopa Mailu, the Council of Governors Chairman Josephat Nanok and the union officials led by their Secretary General George Githiora.Mailu thanked the union officials for taking the step to end the strike, to relief the patients the suffering they have undergone.Dr Mailu appealed to the nurses to end their strike by returning to work and ensure normal services resume in public hospitals, as the government resolves their issues through dialogue.He decried the rising cases of malaria in some counties as a concern, arguing that without all cadres of health workers performing their duties, it may compound the problem. "We are working with UNHCR to ensure malaria is contained in refuge camps," said the CS, Thursday.He urged county governments to place their orders to KEMSA for drugs on credit and directed KEMSA to supply the essential commodities to needy counties as they wait for payment later.
