A strike notice issued by clinical officers has been withdrawn.
The officers withdrew the notice in order to give the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) time to complete crafting new job descriptions and scales.
Council of Governor's chair Josephat Nanok confirmed the new development.
Nanok said the strike notice was withdrawn after consultations between the two parties.
Speaking during the burial of Laikipia governor, Ndiritu Muriithi’s mother on Saturday, Nanok said there is hope that even the more than 100 days-old strike by nurses that had grounded operations in county public hospitals will be resolved soon, saying talks have progressed well.
“I know even the strike by nurses will end soon and full operations in our hospitals will be restored,” he said.
Retired President Mwai Kibaki, Cabinet secretaries Mwangi Kiunjuri and James Macharia also attended.
