A section of customers speaking on Monday at Daraja Mbili market said they will not buy from the traders because they may contradict diseases such as Cholera.

"We are not going to buy from some traders whose businesses are located near the river that has been contaminated by sewage. The affected traders should close their businesses until the county replaces or completes repairing broken sewage pipes," said Gladys Okeyo, a resident.

Philip Mochumbe accused the traders of putting the lives of their customers at risk by running their businesses in a dirty environment.

"The traders are not caring at all. Traders should value the health of their customers by closing down the businesses to allow the Kisii county to repair the sewage pipes," said Mochumbe.
