Nyamira Senator Kennedy Okong’o Mong'are has welcomed the bid to have Kisii University's six satellite campuses shut.
The legislator also asked the vice-chancellor to quit saying he is unable to run the institution.
“The students should either be transferred to the main campus or seek education elsewhere,” said Okong’o as quoted by the Daily Nation on Saturday.
Details have also emerged that at least 900 students from Nyamira Town and Keroka campuses are affected.
According to Nyamira Town Campus coordinator Eliud Nyakundi, students are supposed to be moved from Nyamira Campus to the main campus.
“We have 600 students and 450 of them need to move to the main campus while the rest are supposed to graduate,” Nyakundi as quoted by the Daily Nation.
