NASA leader Raila Odinga was abandoned by close people who forced him to forget the swearing-in plans for December 12.

According to the Star, three NASA principals were against the swearing-in of Raila as the People's President, something that led to the plan collapsing.

With the immense pressure to back down, Raila finally found himself alone and 'postponed' the event.

Key among concerns raised against the swearing-in was that the other principals feared for convulsive violence that would lead to deaths of innocent supporters, fear that Raila himself would be jailed for treason for life, fears or losing his hard earned legacy and that he would lose his course for electoral justice and democracy.

The paper reports that it was Raila's wife Ida Odinga who told off those planning his swearing-in to swear-in someone elese and not her husband.

"She was very clear the swearing-in was crazy and wondered where it came from," said a family member.

Similarly, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula all believed the inauguration would hurt their political ambitions.

They therefore pushed for Raila to drop his bid, though through personal lieutenants.
