The Government has been urged to immediately close all schools and create a way for sober negotiation with all stakeholders to tame the ongoing cases of unrest in learning institutions.
While addressing the press in Tala on Thursday, Knut Kangundo branch Executive Secretary Daniel Nginga said it was necessary for the government to order all schools closed earlier than scheduled in order to avert further damage to property.
Mr Nginga also said that the teachers' union was willing to bring on board their efforts to ensure that the school infernos came to an end.
“Teachers unions are ready and willing to offer expert views on how to arrest the current situation bedeviling the education sector,” he said.
He said the spiraling cases of schools unrest calls for sober and more structured consultations with all relevant stakeholders in order to tame the menace.
