In Kisii county, many of the residents have not been able to pay back debts citing the closure of Chase Bank as the primary excuse since they can't access their accounts.

According to the residents in Kisii town, they gave some people money but now it has become difficult for them to get it back since whenever they ask they are told that the money is at Chase Bank.

Amos Ombasu is one of the residents who borrowed people money but he is yet to receive it back as he is told the money is intact in the bank so he should just be patient and wait.

“The closer of the Chase bank has affected us more so when we are asking our money from those we borrowed they use an excuse that the bank has closed their accounts so they can't access the money, “said Ombasu.

"Does it mean that this bank was serving all Kenyans or it is just an excuse people are using so that they can't pay our money,” questioned Ombasu.

Other groups that are mostly affected are the landlords as most tenants are using the same excuse.
