President Uhuru Kenya reiterated that closure of refugee camps is paramount to the security of the nation.
Addressing the nation on Wednesday during Madaraka Day Celebrations at Afraha stadium, the President said the closure of Daadab camp is meant to curb insecurity.
"I want to reiterate here that the security of this nation is paramount and thus my government has taken a tough measure of closing down refugee camps,"said the President.
He however assured the international community that Kenya is committed to her international obligation.
It will be remembered that since the government issued the notice of Daadab closure, a lot of reactions have been received.
The international community has called on Kenya to rethink that decision.
Uhuru, however, said the exercise will go on without cruelty. He also appealed to Kenyans to be vigilant and report cases of security threats.
