Coast International College (CIC) has signed an agreement with a Malaysian university that will see the institution offering different courses in Islamic Finance. Speaking during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Nairobi alongside CIC principal Loice Gachuki, International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) president Daud Abdullah said the two institutions of learning are going to develop a vocational diploma training programme to offer different courses to learners interested in Islamic related courses.The signing of the agreement is a great milestone in the global Islamic finance Industry since it has opened channels for the country to host Islamic Finance conferences in the coming years. Abdullah said experts in Islamic banking, capital market and takaful will now have the opportunity to share their knowledge with Kenyans. “The INCEIF looks forward to establishing a strategic union with the CIC. This alliance will allow us to penetrate the Kenyan market and offer our expertise in Islamic banking, takaful and capital market,” he said, as quoted by Star. “The INCEIF will play a significant role in delivering Islamic finance knowledge and up-scaling the industry’s talent pool in Kenya,” he added.
