The leaders said the move will ensure historical land injustices in the Coast region are dealt with.

They demanded those involved in the tussle to vacate office in a bid to allow the report's implementation.

Speaking in Malindi, Kilifi County Women Representative Aisha Jumwa accused leaders in power of causing the delay.

She questioned President Uhuru Kenyatta's motive in delaying the report's implementation despite receiving it in March 2013.

“There is a report that was done, why is President Kenyatta refusing to implement the TJRC recommendations?” she asked.

Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo echoed her sentiments, and accused the Jubilee government of having a hand in the Coastal land matters.

“You cannot be a part of the problem and at the same time be part of the solution,” said Madzayo.

The TJRC report included the plight of indigenous Coastal communities, with historical land injustices being the main point of contention.
