Msambweni’s Suleiman Dori’s remarks that Coastal leaders have been sidelined by the top leaders of the National Super Alliance (NASA) have continued to elicit mixed reactions from different factions.  

A number of political analysts claim that the sentiments of the lawmaker are a clear indicator that all is not well in the alliance, whose Presidential candidate in the August General election, Raila Odinga, has vowed to take an oath of office early next year.

In an exclusive interview with the Standard,  Kaloleni MP Paul Katana has rubbished claims that there are cracks in the opposition. 

According to Katana, leaders claiming there is discontent in the political outfit are not only ill-motivated but also misleading the nation. He argued that such disagreements not necessary lead to divorce as speculated.  The statements of the lawmaker come after the

 “Kenyans should not expect political divorce at all. Those claiming we are on our way out of NASA are reading too much from our statements. We are not quitting. We are simply expressing our disappointment over the allocation of seats in Parliament,” Katana argued, as quoted by the Standard.

On his part, Ms. Maimuna Mwaidau, a political analyst, said that the leaders from the region do not have much influence at the national level because of they lack the required academic qualifications to hold different positions in parliament and other places.
