Mombasa Women Rep Mishi Mboko has said that the Coast region is strong under the leadership of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.
This comes after Joho was appointed to spearhead ODM party leader Raila Odinga’ presidential campaigns.
“Raila Odinga’s team at the Coast under Joho is not shaken, even now that there are many people scrambling for the ODM ticket in Kwale County. The Malindi by-election victory demonstrated our strength in this region,” Mboko said.
Mboko added that the recent defections including that of Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has not shaken ODM because they were not among the strongest members of the party.
She said Joho's team will perform better than they did in the 2013, to ensure Raila smokes out Uhuruto from Office in 2017.
Different members of the Orange Democratic movement have continued to express their confidence in Joho to mobilise the region to vote for Raila.
Joho was chosen to lead the coastal team because of his ability to woo the youths to vote for the party.
Despite criticisms from leaders from different parts of the country including Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, Joho has shown his undying desire to see that the former Prime minister head of State House in 2017.
