Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro has said Coast people no longer want to be in the opposition.
Speaking at the Tononoka grounds in Mombasa on Sunday, the lawmaker said Coast residents have decided that they want to be in government and will vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta in next year's general election.
"Coast people have decided to support Jubilee because the government has shown it is concerned about us and we want more development," he added.
Mung'aro who recently decamped form ODM to Jubilee is the party's pointman in the region, which is widely considered an opposition stronghold.
Mung'aro accompanied Deputy President William Ruto in his four-day tour of the Coastal region to drum support for Jubilee and President Uhuru's reelection bid.
Ruto and Mung'aro asked Mombasa residents to join Jubilee as they seek to roll out development projects in the region.
