The five counties constituting the Coast are sending a group of leaders to Germany to woo investors as the region embarks on a robust plan to jack business.

On Saturday, Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi hosted the Jumuia Ya Kaunti Za Pwani (JKP) Secretariat Chairman and Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya among other leaders where they discussed key sectors the region will give priority in development in the next five years.

Kingi, during the meeting, briefed Mvurya on the progress and the current position of JKP in regard to the JKP Vision 2030.

"We exhaustively discussed the JKP Food Security strategy and the Health and Nutrition Strategy that is very core in the Jumuiya agenda," Kingi said after the meeting.

"Tomorrow (Sunday) JKP shall be sending a delegation of Deputy Governors and other officials from across the region to Germany to sell the JKP agenda to potential investors and development partners."

He said with the blessings of the apex they hope that the mission will bring the desired fruits for the region.

"We hope to create sufficient networks for the growth of the region. The JKP agenda is right on course and within the fullness of time we shall all smile as we take stock of the benefits of this regional cooperation," he added.

JKP brings together the counties of Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River and Taita Taveta.
