A famous Mathematics contest for secondary schools that rewards winners with a university scholarship has been extended to Mombasa County. The contest launched today 09/03/2017 by Brookside Dairy Limited, is dubbed Brookside Mathlete Series.
Winners in the contest will be free to pick a courses of their choice from those that will be listed, at Strathmore University. The courses will be fully gathered for, by Brookside Dairy Limited.
More than 3,000 students from different secondary schools in the coast region are set to benefit from the contest. The contest will be aiming at improving Mathematics performances in secondary schools.
"This contest will enable students to learn from each other. Which will make them to improve in the subject, in terms of performance." said Mr. Wilson Okong'o, the Brookside Dairy Limited public relation officer.
The Brookside Dairy Limited Marketing manager, Mr. Peter Wasonga, had earlier said that, this year 2018, they will be including Engineering and Communication courses on the course list, so that winners can have a variety of courses to choose from.
"Our partners have rolled out Engineering and Communication courses as part of the strategic plan. We want the winners to have a number of courses to pursue. We decided to increase the number of courses after deliberations with stakeholders. There is need for students to have a variety of courses they can pick from apart from the traditional Business courses," said Mr. Wesonga
